How to Transport Flowers Safely

Step 1

Tell the seller how the flowers will travel

A bouquet crossing town has different needs from wedding flowers travelling for hours. Share travel duration, vehicle type, stops and whether the final location has a vase or preparation space.

The seller may provide a transport box, wrap, water source or handling instructions designed for that arrangement. Keep those materials in place during the trip unless instructed otherwise.

Step 2

Secure the arrangement upright

Place flowers on a flat surface where they cannot roll, slide or be hit by luggage. A stable crate or box can help support a suitable vase or transport container, but it must not press against flower heads.

Do not hold a large arrangement while driving. Secure it before the vehicle moves and protect the interior from water spills.

Step 3

Control the environment and timing

Avoid a hot parked car, direct sun through glass and blasts of extreme air. Flowers should also be separated from items that could crush, stain or contaminate them.

Plan flower pickup after other errands. At arrival, follow the seller’s setup or rehydration instructions promptly and confirm who is responsible for the final handoff.
